Leadership Day at the Capitol

Each February Habersham County Farm Bureau coordinates and co- host our annual Leadership Day at the Capitol with the Habersham County Chamber of Commerce. Farm Bureau Day at the Capitol

While the Georgia General Assembly is in session, Habersham County Farm Bureau participates in the statewide  Farm Bureau Day at the Capitol.  Local Farm Bureau members join forces with members from across the state in visiting with state representatives and senators and sharing our priority legislative agenda. Read more

Young Farmer Trip to Washington

Each year one Young Farmer member has the opportunity to take a trip to our nation’s capitol. On this trip the Young Farmer may tour historic sites, meet with legislators, and attend conferences on agriculture related issues. Read more

President’s Trip to Washington

Each year the President of Habersham County Farm Bureau travels to Washington D.C. to meet with legislators and attend conferences on agriculture related issues. The county president, legislative committee members, and board work closely with our elected delegation to make sure the agricultural community’s voice is heard. Read more

Young Farmer Tour

Each year different Georgia farms are selected to be a part of the young farmer tour. The tour lasts for two days during which board members and young farmers learn about new and improved methods of farming and advancements in agriculture technology. Read more

Commodity Conference

Every summer, local members who represent Habersham County Farm Bureau on one of 20 different Georgia Farm Bureau agricultural commodity committees meet at the annual commodity conference to discuss policy and issues affecting the agricultural commodity that they represent.  Also educational forums relating to technology, research, and market forecast are presented. Read more

Futures Seminar

Georgia Farm Bureau offers many learning opportunities to its members by providing two different conferences on commodities markets; one specifically geared to young farmers and the other to members interested in gaining more knowledge in trading futures.

Annual Meeting

Each September Habersham County Farm Bureau holds an annual meeting for local members. The meeting is held at Habersham Central High school and a barbecue dinner is provided. At the meeting current agriculture issues are discussed and any necessary county elections are held. A year’s summary is presented highlighting the different activities the membership is involved in, and door prizes are handed out. Read more

Kids Farm and Fun Day

Each year Habersham County Farm Bureau sponsors Kids Farm and Fun Day at the local Habersham County Fairground. We partner with the Chattahoochee Mt. Fair in hosting this event, and Kid’s Farm and Fun Day kicks off the Fair.  Fourth graders from Habersham County Schools spend the day learning about the importance of agriculture by visiting 13 different learning stations that highlight different agricultural commodities such as dairy, poultry, beef, equine, and crops – just to name a few. Read moreIMG_0973

Annual Convention

Every December Georgia Farm Bureau holds a state convention at Jekyll Island. During the convention board members attend meetings on state issues, agriculture developments, and policy development. At this convention all county farm bureau volunteers come together to find new ways to improve Farm Bureau’s service to the Georgia agriculture industry. Read more

Young Farmer Discussion Meet

At the annual convention there is a Young Farmer Discussion meet. Young Farmer volunteers from each county come together to discuss current agriculture issues in Georgia. This discussion meet gives young Georgia farmers the opportunity to voice opinions and suggest improvements in Georgia’s agriculture industry. Read more

Food Check Out Day

Food Check Out Day is an event recognized state wide. On Food Check Out Day Farm Bureau volunteers celebrate our country’s safe and abundant food supply. Donations are accepted to assist the hungry in the local county and provide food and assistance for the Ronald McDonald House charity. Read moreDSCF3307

Farm City Week Breakfast

Every November Habersham County Farm Bureau sponsors a Farm City Week Breakfast. This breakfast kicks off our National Farm-City Week Celebration emphasisizing the important relationship and partnership between agriculture and commerce. This annual event brings local leaders in business and farming together for the advancement of agriculture in Georgia and in Habersham County. Read more
